Report about the General Assembly 2003

On Saturday 9th of August 2003, our annual general assembly took place in the cassette hall of the castle Schallaburg near the monastery of Melk. The members came also this year again numerously, despite the summer temperatures.
After the welcome of the members and the statement of the quorum Mrs Monika Peikert was elected as protocol writer unanimously, as scrutinizers Mrs. Kerstin Mares and Mr. Alfred Peikert were confirmed unanimously.
The approval of minutes of the  general assembly 2002 passed and afterwards the board gave its reports.
In the area of exhibitions a successful exhibition year 2002 could be reported. In Category I the number of exhibited cats remained the same, the number of cats exhibited in category II slightly decreased, wheras the number of cats in category III increased significantly and in category IV an increasement could be noticed. Statistic data were presented in a professional presentation, whereby that it has to be mentioned that the number of KKÖ-exhibitors had raised once more.
Also the development in the area of the pedigrees was very pleasing, whereby this positive trend will also continue in 2003.

After the elections, after a short presentation the adaptations of the by-laws were unanimously accepted. With those adjustments, the members will have the possibilities to form their own clubs as part of the KKÖ. Into the executive board the following members were elected for a period of 2 years:

The auditors Mrs. Henriette Göppert and Mrs. Dr. Susanna Lenk examined the books and emphasize the excellent bookkeeping and also the very positive result.
The board  would like to thank the two auditors for their exact, objective audit of our cash which was done with excellent knowledge.

Mrs. Eveline Preiss, treasurer of the KKÖ, was discharged up to the end of 2002. Afterwards the discharge of responsibility of the  executive board took place. The executive board would like to thank for the great confidence of the members of KKÖ.

Ing. Mr. Karl Preiss Mrs. Eveline Preiss
  • As members of the commissions
Mrs. Sigrid Grau and Mrs. Helene Reiter have been confirmed as members of the show commission for a period of 2 years.
  • Dr. Susanna Lenk was elected as auditor for the same period.

After the elections the breeding rules decided by the FIFe this year, which have been already part of our breeding rules for several years, were specified more detailed. The executive board was unanimously authorized to implement FIFe's breeding rules without extra voting in a GA into our breeding rules as long as they do not interfere with our general principles, thus a voting in the GA is necessary.

The new corporate Homepage of the KKÖ was presented by Mrs. Preiss, and the members were informed, that they will have the possibility now to insert their own breeder's advertisement, including a picture. The majority of the members expressed their great satisfaction about the new design and layout of KKÖ's Web site with great applause.

The general assembly ended - as already traditional - with an excellent buffet, where still intensive talks about our common topic - the cats - continued.
